INVOTEC PUTS NEW PAL LINE THROUGH ITS PACES

Invotec Circuits Tamworth has a newly installed PTH line ordered from PAL. For speed of delivery, this was manufactured at the FTL facility in Warwick.

“The order was placed right at the end of 2001 and installation of the machine took place started after Easter this year and the machine was fully commissioned by mid-May,” explains Bruce Norsworthy, Managing Director of PAL (UK) Ltd. “Invotec already had a PAL Pattern plate machine at Tamworth. The new line, which was designed to achieve top quality Electroless Copper plating, has vibration fitted to the flight bars, to give the very best of results with a variety of work. Two Conditioners and two Micro etches allow for a variety of substrates and Copper styles to be processed; and OSST random load software to handle all the variations that may arise.”

The Invotec Group was formed in August 2001, as a result of a management buy-out of three manufacturing facilities, which constituted the Special Products Group of Viasystems. The Tamworth site employs over 100 people at its 45,850 sq. ft. facility running on a 3 shift working pattern, 5 days a week. The site operates at a product mix ratio of 60/40 PTH/Multilayer and has an annual manufacturing capacity of 306,000 sq. ft. Prototype and fast turnaround services are both offered as well as small to medium volume standard production batches.
