Compact Design for KCE

KCE International in Bangkok, a subsidiary of the KCE electronic company, has been manufacturing double sided boards for ten years. They also manufacture some MLB four-layer boards. Earlier this year they set PAL something of a challenge when they ordered a compact design, gate type, deep tank Desmear/PTH machine, a first of its kind for PAL.

“Space limitations, coupled with the need to increase production capacity influenced the design of machine that we opted for,” explains Mr Pon, Production Manager, KCE International. “We chose PAL to make the new machine as we have confidence in the quality of work produced by their machines and in their after-sales service.

“Agitation, air agitation, a strong circulation pump, vibrator and basket design were all key features of the new machine, which was installed in July. As so often with new concepts there were some initial teething troubles to sort out, but working in partnership with the PAL team - evidence of their effective after-sales service, these were resolved and the machine is now running quite smoothly with no breakdowns and we are pleased with the quality of work being produced.”

ONE FOR THE PHILIPPINES

IDC is a Japanese company making IC substrate. They have financed purchase of a Compal Rack Tin-Lead plate line with one transporter and with a 16 racks capacity per hour for installation at IMI in The Philippines. This is IMI’s second PAL machine. Buy-off was at the end of August, the machine was shipped mid-September and installation started towards the end of the month. “During the two day buy-off, both the representatives of IDC and the end-user, IMI, were very satisfied with their new machine,” explains PAL’s Regional Manager, Stanley Cheung.

ELEC & ELTEK MACHINE RUNNING WELL

Elec & Eltek in Thailand ordered a Compal Electroless Nickel/Gold line earlier this year from PAL to expand their product line and better serve customer demands.

“We chose a PAL machine because their machines have proved more reliable than some we have had from other manufacturers, and their after sales service is also good,” explains Mr Narong, Elec & Eltek’s Project & Development Manager. “We are delighted with the results we have been getting since the machine was successfully installed in March.”

Elec & Eltek International Company Limited is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of high density double-sided and multi-layered printed circuit boards (PCBs). Founded 27 years ago in Hong Kong, with three partners and no more than 40 staff, today the Group has its regional investment office in Singapore, eight plants across the region - two in Hong Kong, two in Thailand, and four in mainland China - and a workforce of over 5,000 experienced and skilled employees.

With technical capability to produce up to 20-layer high density PCBs, Elec & Eltek has an annual output capacity of approximately 19.5 million square feet supplied to a diverse customer base including market leaders in the computer, computer peripheral, communications and automotive sectors worldwide. The Group’s cross border manufacturing capability provides “one-stop-shopping” for customers with diverse product requirements; and its vertical integration - producing its own intermediate raw materials - gives it a competitive edge in quality, cost and on-time delivery.
