General Manager and Director of PAL Shenzhen

CW Chan, who joined the company over 20 years ago as a Production Supervisor, has been appointed a Director of Process Automation International Ltd (PAL), the world's largest manufacturer of automated electroplating machinery.
Before joining PAL in 1981, CW Chan, had previously worked for a plating shop in Hong Kong. In July 1994 he transferred from PAL Hong to PAL's major manufacturing facility, PAL Shenzhen, where he took up the post of Assistant Production Manager; then 1997 saw his promotion to Production Manager of PAL Shenzhen.
In 2001 CW Chan was appointed Deputy General Manager and Director of PAL Shenzhen (following the retirement of Mr C Chan who previously held this post).
"Mr CW Chan has done an excellent job of running the Shenzhen operation since taking over from Mr Chan Chin, as any one of our many visitors to the factory will testify," comments Geoff Paterson, Managing Director of PAL, which has over 1,240 machines installed in 36 countries.
"Apart from his day-to-day duties, he has been heavily involved in our continuous programme to increase the efficiency of our operation and the quality of our products. His promotion is thoroughly deserved and I welcome him on to the Board of Process Automation International Ltd."
In his new capacity, Mr Chan will continue to head up the Shenzhen facility with its 400 employees and oversee both the factory operation and all allied administration; and will also be taking part in establishing the PAL Group's policies, strategies and future development.
CW Chan has three children, the two oldest - a son and a daughter - are studying at universities in the USA, whilst his younger daughter is a high school student in Hong Kong.
