GELDERN. At the head office of RUWEL AG in Geldern has now gone into production the latest multi-million investment of the enterprise, a 30 x 5.75 m plating line manufactured by PAL. Only in last September, RUWEL had laid the foundation stone of a new production shop. The large-scale equipment was installed during the first two months of this year. The internal approval procedure and the process approval by important customers passed, production could start in March. Wilfried Sehner, Chairman of the Executive Board of RUWEL AG, did himself the launching mouse click at the process control PC.

The line which has now been installed is the first large-scale order for almost ten years the Hong Kong-based enterprise PAL got from Germany. At the same time, it represents with its 5.75 m large chemicals tanks the largest line PAL has ever built. The pattern-plating line is equipped with an automatic loading and unloading system and with the pulse-plating technology. It offers a production capacity of more than 19,000 panels weekly. The placing of the order with PAL was preceded by an extensive market investigation with visits to similar lines of this manufacturer in Finland and Scotland.
The investment was necessary since the RUWEL plant Geldern will produce increasing order volumes in future: There are order bundles of reputable new key accounts to be handled and existing customers have shifted their demands within Europe to RUWEL.
